Description

• Grandfather Spider, also known as Old Cob, is the final boss of Mirage. Wizards must defeat him to retrieve the Eye of History that was stolen from Bartleby.
  
• The Second Chance Chest, Spiders Chest, will appear after the duel.
  

Speech:

"And at long last, the inevitable showdown between the forces of Light and Shadow! It's not so clear-cut, however, is it, Tainted One? But battle we must. Though with the Sands of Time in such a state, I suspect it will add quite an unpredictable dynamic to this contest. Who knows? It might help you win. Of course, the odds of defeating a Supreme Being such as I... well, they are slim, but come, give me your best."

Known as Old Cob, the Weaver of Shadows, the Lord of Chaos. He's really not so bad once you get to know him.

Cheats

• "You're late... or are you early?" - If a Wizard joins the duel after the second Round, then Grandfather Spider will interrupt-cast a Shadow version of Insane Bolt on the Wizard, dealing 2,000 Shadow Damage and removing 3 pips.
• "You will not defeat me!" - At the beginning of the first Round, Grandfather Spider will summon a Spiderling Minion. The Minion will become active on the next Round and interrupt-cast a permanent version of Shadow Sentinel which provides Intercept 90%, +80 Critical Block, and -30% Incoming Damage.

• If the Spiderling is defeated, then Grandfather Spider will summon another one three Rounds later.
• Only one Spiderling can be up at a time.
• Grandfather Spider will only summon as many Spiderlings as there are Wizards engaged in the duel. Once that number of Spiderlings has been defeated, he will unsuccessfully attempt to summon a Minion every three Rounds.

• "Spin the wheel! I'm enjoying this!" - At the end of every third Round, Grandfather Spider will interrupt-cast a Spell that switches the first turn of the duel.
• "Time, time, time, see what's become of me" - At the end of a number of Rounds dependent on the number of Wizards engaged in the duel, Grandfather Spider will interrupt-cast a Shadow version of Dimension Shift that steals all positive charms and wards from all Wizards.

• Every 8 Rounds with 1 Wizard present.
• Every 7 Rounds with 2 Wizards present.
• Every 6 Rounds with 3 Wizards present.
• Every 5 Rounds with 4 Wizards present.

• "Surprised? So am I!" - Grandfather Spider will use his Natural Attack on a random Wizard and then cast Healing Current on himself.
• "You had your chance, I'm ending this" - Grandfather Spider will cast an Iron Sultan.
• "That's the spirit!" - If a Feint is placed on Grandfather Spider, then he will cast Swap Ward to switch the traps with the Wizard who cast it.
  • This can be avoided with Indemnity or Melt.
• "Time needs chaos! One direction is boring!" - If a Bad Juju is placed on Grandfather Spider, then he will interrupt-cast Sacrifice on himself.

Spell Notes

• Casts an Aegis-protected Shadowblade, Stormblade (+30%), and Reaperblade.
  • Reaperblade incorrectly states +35% Storm Damage on both Blades.
• Casts an Indemnity-protected Windstorm (+25%), and Mass Feint (+70%/+30%).

Natural Attack:

• Deals 110 Shadow Damage per Pip, despite the Spell card's 3-Pip maximum description.
